Cadela Forca II - The Brotherhood

Cadela Força (Bitch Strength) is een trilogie die als een Danteske helse cirkel draait om verhalen over vrouwenmoorden van de jaren ‘90 tot nu. Samen met het collectief Cara de Cavalo onderzoekt Carolina Bianchi de moeilijkheden van het documenteren van verkrachtingen en de broederschap tussen mannen als onderdeel van een systeem dat geweld tegen vrouwen in stand houdt.

In Cadela Força- The Brotherhood, het tweede hoofdstuk van de trilogie Cadela Força, wordt er dieper in gegaan op de complexiteit van mannelijkheid en 'mannelijkheidspacts'. Ze onderzoekt de oorsprong van broederschap tussen mannen en hun gewelddadige onderlinge codes die verkrachting en seksueel geweld voortzetten als onderdeel van hun vocabulaire. 

Carolina maakt hierbij gebruik van principes binnen het hedendaagse theater om de mogelijke paden voor deze discussie onder woorden te brengen. Ze creëert een dialoog tussen dramaturgie en trauma, autobiografie, bezetenheid en radicale poëzie, de oorsprong van misogynie en een seksualiteit in crisis. Na een residentie bij Theater Utrecht in december 2024, gaat de voorstelling in mei 2025 in première tijdens het Kunstenfestivaldesarts in Brussel. 

In 2023 startte Carolina met haar collectief Cara de Cavalo Cadela Força (Bitch Strength), het drieluik over femicide, met als eerste deel Cadela Força - Capítulo 1: A noiva e o boa noite cinderela / Chapter 1: The Bride And The Good Night, Cinderella, in coproductie met Frascati Producties. In deze internationaal geprezen voorstelling gaat Bianchi in op het onbespreekbare bij geweld tegen vrouwen. Het is een aangrijpende performance over verkrachting, seksueel trauma en femicide waarin Carolina de bekende verkrachtingsdrank (Boa Noite, Cinderela) tijdens de voorstelling inneemt die haar op het podium neerslaat. De voorstelling veroorzaakte een schokgolf tijdens de première op Avignon, is onlangs genomineerd voor een Theo d’Or voor meest grensverleggende podiumpresetatie en is geselecteerd voor de Officiële Juryselectie van de Nederlandse Toneeljury.

Cadela Força (Bitch Strength) is a trilogy that revolves like a Dantesque hellish circle around stories of femicide from the 1990s to the present. Together with the collective Cara de Cavalo, Carolina Bianchi investigates the difficulties of documenting rape and the brotherhood between men as part of a system that perpetuates violence against women.

Cadela Força - The Brotherhood, the second chapter of the Cadela Força trilogy, delves deeper into the complexity of masculinity and 'masculinity pacts'. She examines the origins of brotherhood between men and their violent mutual codes that perpetuate rape and sexual violence as part of their vocabulary.

Carolina uses principles from contemporary theatre to articulate possible paths for this discussion. She creates a dialogue between dramaturgy and trauma, autobiography, possession and radical poetry, the origins of misogyny and a sexuality in crisis. After a residency at Theater Utrecht in December 2024, the performance will premiere in May 2025 during the Kunstenfestivaldesarts in Brussels.

In this internationally acclaimed show, Bianchi addresses the unspeakable in violence against women. It is a moving performance about rape, sexual trauma and femicide in which Carolina takes the well-known date rape potion (Boa Noite, Cinderela) during the show, which knocks her out on stage. The show caused a shockwave during its premiere at Avignon, was recently nominated for a Theo d’Or for most groundbreaking stage performance and was selected for the Official Jury Selection of the Dutch Theatre Jury.
